Soapranos Cleaning Services
A complete website rebuild for an established Lancashire cleaning company — repositioned around commercial growth, local search visibility and turning visitors into qualified enquiries.
The Soapranos homepage hero — live at soapranos.net
An established business needed a website built for where it wanted to go next.
Soapranos Cleaning Services is a family-run cleaning company based in Clitheroe, Lancashire. Established in 2014, the business had more than a decade of experience, an established local reputation and a growing commercial cleaning operation.
But its website wasn't properly communicating what the business had become — or supporting where it wanted to go next. The objective wasn't simply to make the old website look better.
Soapranos wanted to increase its commercial cleaning contracts across Lancashire, particularly in areas such as Preston and Blackburn. That meant the new website needed to clearly communicate why a facilities manager, office manager or business owner should choose Soapranos rather than one of dozens of apparently similar cleaning companies.
The brief was to:
- Reposition commercial cleaning as the primary service.
- Create a clear and credible commercial proposition.
- Increase visibility across Lancashire rather than relying solely on the company's Clitheroe base.
- Build dedicated pages around commercially valuable services and locations.
- Turn more website visitors into site-visit and quotation enquiries.
- Preserve the company's established local identity and reputation.
- Build strong technical SEO foundations for future organic growth.
- Make the website easy for search engines and AI assistants to understand.
Reposition, structure, build, measure.
01 Start with the commercial proposition
Before thinking about colours, layouts or animations, we worked on the reason someone should choose Soapranos. The cleaning industry has a problem: almost every company claims to be professional, reliable and high quality. Those claims alone don't differentiate anyone.
So the new website makes Soapranos' operational differences visible. Commercial clients are offered:
- A written reliability guarantee — if Soapranos misses a qualifying scheduled clean, the visit is credited.
- A dedicated cleaner rather than constant random rotation.
- Three-week quality audits with structured reporting and follow-up.
- Fixed transparent pricing including agreed supplies, equipment, insurance and management.
- Local management from a genuine Lancashire business rather than a national call centre.
Instead of simply telling visitors that Soapranos is reliable, the website explains the systems designed to make it reliable.
02 Build around commercial enquiries
The site's primary conversion isn't an online purchase. It's a conversation. Commercial cleaning contracts normally need the premises, frequency, specification and operational requirements to be understood before an accurate proposal can be produced.
We therefore designed the main conversion journey around a simple offer: Book a Free Site Visit. Calls to action appear throughout the site's commercially important pages, supported by a dedicated enquiry form collecting the information needed to start a useful conversation. Visitors who are ready to speak immediately can also call or email directly.
The aim is simple: reduce the distance between finding Soapranos and talking to Soapranos.
03 Build a local SEO architecture
Soapranos doesn't only compete for customers in Clitheroe. Its commercial growth area extends across Lancashire. Instead of creating one generic cleaning page and hoping Google understands every market the company serves, the new website uses a structured combination of service and location content.
That includes dedicated commercial landing pages for areas such as:
- Preston
- Blackburn
- Burnley
- Accrington
- Rossendale
- Clitheroe
- Lancashire
These sit alongside the main commercial cleaning content and supporting service pages. The result is a website architecture designed to grow with the business — allowing Soapranos to strengthen individual markets without rebuilding the entire site.
04 Turn trust into evidence
Cleaning companies are given access to workplaces, schools, healthcare environments and other sensitive premises. Trust matters. The new website therefore brings Soapranos' credibility into the buying journey rather than hiding it on an About page.
The site communicates its established trading history, local Clitheroe base, insurance and compliance, staff approach and quality-control process. It also incorporates real-world social proof, including customer reviews and a testimonial from Ribble Valley Borough Council.
The goal is to answer the question running through a prospective customer's mind: "Can I trust these people to look after my premises every week?"
05 Design for search and AI discovery
Search is changing. A modern business website needs to be understandable not only by a human visitor but also by Google and the growing number of AI systems people use to research businesses and services. The Soapranos rebuild therefore focused on clear, crawlable information and a logical relationship between the company, its services and the geographical areas it serves.
The technical and content foundations include:
- Search-focused page titles and descriptions.
- Logical service and location architecture.
- Crawlable HTML content.
- Internal linking between related services and locations.
- Clear business and contact information.
- XML sitemap and crawl controls.
- Structured page hierarchy.
- Descriptive headings and content.
- Local landing pages designed around genuine service areas rather than doorway pages.
It's a foundation designed for long-term visibility rather than a collection of SEO tricks.
More than a new homepage.
A modern visual identity and responsive interface built around the established Soapranos brand
The site now makes commercial cleaning and recurring contracts central to the business proposition
Clear positioning, proof, service information and repeated routes to book a free site visit
Dedicated content explaining the service, operational model, guarantee and customer journey
Individual commercial cleaning pages supporting expansion across key Lancashire markets
Structured site-visit forms designed to turn search traffic into genuine sales opportunities
Reviews, operational guarantees, company credentials and client evidence incorporated throughout the site
Navigation, content and calls to action designed to work properly across phones, tablets and desktop
Search-friendly architecture, metadata, crawlable content, internal linking and technical search configuration
New services, sectors and geographical markets can be added as the business grows
A website designed to become a sales asset.
The new Soapranos website does something fundamentally different from the site it replaced. It gives the business a position. Soapranos is no longer presented simply as another company offering cleaning services. It is positioned as a locally managed Lancashire commercial cleaning company with a defined reliability guarantee, dedicated cleaners, structured quality auditing and transparent service delivery.
The website now:
- Explains why Soapranos is different.
- Prioritises commercially valuable work.
- Gives prospective clients clear reasons to trust the company.
- Targets growth markets beyond Clitheroe.
- Creates dedicated routes from Google search to enquiry.
- Makes booking a site visit straightforward.
- Provides a platform that can expand alongside the business.
And the early search signals are encouraging. New location-focused pages have begun appearing in search results, including visibility for commercial cleaning searches in Preston — a market the previous website wasn't specifically built to target.
Organic search growth takes time, particularly after a significant website rebuild, so this isn't presented as a finished SEO result. It's the beginning of something measurable.
A small-business website should have a job.
For Hill Brook Barn, that job was helping potential guests understand the property and make a direct enquiry. For Soapranos, the job is different: win commercial cleaning customers.
That single objective influenced the positioning, copy, site architecture, local landing pages, calls to action and technical SEO work. That's an important part of the Fehu approach.
We don't start by asking:
"What should the website look like?"
We start by asking:
"What does the business need this website to achieve?"
Then we design and build around the answer. Soapranos is a good example of that approach: an established local business, repositioned online for its next stage of growth.
Your website should help grow your business.
If your existing website looks acceptable but isn't generating enquiries, clearly communicating why customers should choose you, or appearing for the searches that matter to your business, it may be time to rethink what the site is actually for.
